The Fried Pie began with our founder, Jo Clark, or really her grandmother, who taught her the famous fried pie recipe.


Young and ambitious, Jo started making them at home and sold them at local stores. Soon, her business out-grew her kitchen and her husband finally told her, "Get those pies out of the house!" So, in November 1982, she set up the shop here in the most patriotic small-town of America, Gainesville, Texas, on the corner of the courthouse square.


While the Fried Pie is no longer run by Jo, we work hard to carry on her tradition of cooking good food, keeping around friendly people, and most importantly, making great fried pies.
